Visual Circuits' Introduces the
Gemini HD Decoder Card
MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 9,
2004 32-Bit Accelerated Graphics and Simultaneous High Definition Video Delivers Dynamic
Duo Capabilities for Network Digital Media Integration
Visual Circuits, a leader in industrial AV/IT integration, again leads network digital
media advancement with the introduction of the Gemini(TM) decoder card. Combining
simultaneous 32-bit graphics and high definition video, Gemini offers comprehensive
capabilities for creative production and design teams. Available to system integrators and
OEM customers with a full software development kit (SDK) and integration support, Gemini
cards will be available in the second quarter, 2004.
Gemini combines independent and scalable
video or graphics regions on-screen with adjustable transparency and blending effects,
allowing project managers the flexibility to mix and match digital media content in a way
that will most effectively communicate with the desired audience. Content development
professionals can also meet and exceed their customers' complex needs by integrating
multiple digital media file types in one visual display.
"Gemini is the only universal media
decoder card that allows development professionals the flexibility to design-in the
features necessary for virtually any media application they're trying to address,"
explains David Parish, Visual Circuits' CEO.
While conversion to high-definition is
rapidly gaining momentum due to compelling HDTV and display pricing, to date video content
production has been limited, largely due to the increased expense associated with high
definition video capture and production. Gemini also fully supports standard definition
requirements, allowing integration customers who are not yet fully committed to high
definition a future-proof roadmap. Programmers can develop application software around
Gemini to maximize graphics with standard definition video now, ensuring high definition
(HD) video functionality when an organization is ready to upgrade.
Gemini builds on the legacy of Visual
Circuits' first HD decoder card, Hdfocus. With a backward compatible API (Application
Programming Interface), integration applications that currently use a Visual Circuits'
card are straightforward.
